Absolute Hospice is excited to announce it has achieved a level one status (out of four) with We Honor Veterans (WHV), a national campaign and program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

WHV provides hospice organizations with Veteran-centric educational activities; an increased focus on organizational capacity to serve Veterans; support for the development of strategic partnerships; and increased access to resources for Veterans that will ensure quality improvements to the hospice program.

Mary McGuinness, account executive for the Cleveland team, has spearheaded the effort with WHV and will ensure that we are dutiful in meeting criteria for each level. “I’m grateful that Absolute understands the value of providing Veteran-centric care. This population is reaching death in high numbers, and we want our entire team to be equipped with how to deal with the set of unique challenges that we tend to see with Veterans,” said McGuinness.

At each level, Absolute will be required to complete the following activities:

Level One: Provide Veteran-centric education for staff and volunteers, and identify patients with military experience.
Level Two: Build organizational capacity to provide quality care for Veterans.
Level Three: Develop and strengthen relationships with VA medical centers and other Veteran organizations.
Level Four: Increase access and improve quality of care for Veterans in your community.
